*UPDATED* Liv said goodbye to her old YouTube channel, so I updated the links for her new one. */UPDATED*

A couple of years back, I sent out a call for indie musicians to contact me so that I can review their music. One of the first to respond was Liv. I discovered she has such an amazing voice which compliments her acoustic guitar. This is quite a pairing, for I start to drift off into la-la land once her music plays. With the recent passing of Davy Jones, Liv needed to express her appreciation for his contribution to the world.

Here is a cleaned-up (audio) version: Liv – Daydream Believer (The Monkees)

Hear what I mean? Don’t you feel like curling up in a blanket and stare out of the window into the sky? Maybe that’s just me. Imagine the power of her music in collaboration with another Creative! A few years ago, she met Tom, a promising musician from the UK, who makes stunningly beautiful time-lapse and photographic videos to accompany his melodic sound. Together they made “Awake In The Night”, an EP that crosses oceans of talent to enter a harmonious state of sound.

The 4-song EP begins with a snappy up-beat tune called “Into your Heart”, then slows down in the song “Cerulean”. “Cerulean” is my personal favorite, with it’s hypnotic melody and subliminal angst. Then we hit another snappy, yet bittersweet song called “June”. Last, but not least the titular song “Awake in the Night”. The album finishes with a soft landing. As a lover of indie music, I highly recommend this gem. It made a daydream believer out of me.

Stay tuned next time, for I’ll be reviewing Liv’s most recent project “Lo-fi Lullabies”.
